Ultimately it's up to the consumers to decide whether to reward this behavior or not. And from what we've seen in the rest of the gaming community, I don't have much faith in public...

Misleading stat, the game didn't launch on Steam until just recently. The vast majority of people bought it on other platforms and played the launch version, which is significantly worse than the current Steam version with all the updates.

The game also underperformed financially.

I'm hopeful for a good RPG after my disappointment with Veilguard. But speaking of, the previews for that were extremely positive too...

The game achieved massive critical and commercial success despite not having an easy mode. I think that's evidence enough that it doesn't need one. Tens of millions of people were able to enjoy it just fine.

I always rebind crouch to 'C'...CTRL is way too far from the other keys.
