This is simply fantastic. Would be interested to know how / if the students are reflecting on this initiative. It must be really evident how reclaiming this space makes their walk home so much safer.

Very sad to hear. Would do a pilgrimage couple times a year there from Brooklyn or try to incorporate into my long runs. What other bagel in the city comes close to Absolute? Bagel pub is just not the same.

Can you give some examples? I'm not from the US and would be curious what people still define as "rural". Is it the same phenomenon as self-identifying as "Irish" when their great great great great [...] grandparents came here via boat?
