Music app in macOS Tahoe and iOS 26 are fucking trainwrecks. Do any of those devs even run their code? I can't remember such complete fucking, buggy messes like this from Apple. It's like I accidentally got in a beta group. This is like Microsoft Teams levels of incompetence for perspective.

Updated to macOS Tahoe today. Very liquid. Very glassy. Wasn't sure I'd like it, but it works. Quite the fresh take on UX/UI.

A coworker complimented me on my very low defect rate in code I write. Regardless of automated testing, I run my code. I run the hell out of it. While I do take pride in my work & want it to Just Work™, my main motivation is that I just don't fucking want to look at it again once I am done with it.

Many years ago I wrote an app that won a Best of Show at Macworld Expo San Fran. Was pre smart-phone and had no camera at all with me to document the moment! But Apple Store was just down the street! Ran there, bought a tiny digital camera, and took pics of booth & award. Was a great time!

Fucking loved the No Kings protests yesterday in Des Moines! So many people! Every stripe of person was there. Ironically Trump has definitely brought a lot of people together. In agreement we hate him and the fascist MAGA fucks. Pretty clear decent, good folk out number them. By a LOT!

Broke out "Fast Algorithms for 3D-Graphics" by Georg Glaeser. From 1996 and still has the 3.5" "diskette"! And I have literally no way to read the disk. Yet, my phone, which 1996 folks could not have imagined, can copy a photo to text just fine. Even read the cover name using my phone for this post.

Researching some 3D rendering algorithms that yield a lot of search hits that are from around 15 years ago. Completely relevant stuff, but funny the concepts I'm looking into seem to have been settled and not changed much in the mean time.

No one at Apple who works on Xcode has any understanding of how developers actually use code editors. That IDE has lost the plot. A perfect example of how not to make an editor.
