Winter Song Part 2 (Thread 5/5)
Santa reassuringly touches Death's shoulder and says "you did." Death open the present under the watchful eye of his scarf-wearing crow companion. The box contains a solar panel charger, headphones... ...And an old mp3 player shaped like a skull, with the control wheel in one of the eye sockets. Death dons the headphones, content. Death glides and dances thru the snow happily, listening to the music.

Winter Song Part 2 (Thread 4/5)
Santa says he saw Death listening under windows of human houses. Death is embarrassed again, explaining rapidly that they miss music, but without the internet around, they have to listen in to when humans play it, like they did during the Middle Ages. Santa gives Death a gift. Santa explains that since Death was technically a human that "believes" in him, he prepared a gift out of habit. Death replis that they didn't get Santa anything in return.

Winter Song Part 2 (Thread 3/5)
Santa thanks Death for their kind words. Death brushes him off, embarassed. Death adds that it doesn't matter what tales are told of them, they are always working. Santa replies that Death had this role a long time, even if they weren't born as a story. Death reacts in a panic, asking how Santa knows such a big secret. Santa explains that he knows Death used to be human because Santa's list is thorough, and older than him, implying the list he checks twice is its own magical entity. Death calms down. Santa adds that he is happy he ran into the Grim Reaper.

Santa calls himself a foolish old story waiting for a storyteller. Death looks at him, concerned and saddened. Death decides to reassure Santa by explaining that stories don't live and die like other things do, otherwise Death would collect them too. Stories grow and change. Santa wasn't always "Santa." Death says that one day, a kid is going to find a dusty book in a forgotten corner, and Santa shall "pop back in" in a new way. Death assumes his future incarnation may be called "the Red Present Wizard or whatever the floop."

Winter Song Part 2 (Thread 1/5)

Following part 1, part of this comic begins with the grim reaper, a little embarrassed, asking Santa Claus where he is headed after this. Santa replies that since he no longer visits homes on Christmas Eve, he hosts a rather impressive party instead. Santa talks about the party, and we see a sketch of it behind a panel with Santa and Death talking. He invites Death to join, and mentions that the party is a lively affair with elves, ghosts, old winter spirits, and mrs Claus, of course. Santa continues to talk, in narration boxes over a sketch of him in a more traditional Santa suit, surrounded by children. Santa says that while he is lucky to be here with friends and family, every Christmas Eve, all he can think of is the past.

Death replies jokingly that it's a living, working that graveyard shift. In the same tone, Santa replies "how spirited of you." Death replies that their jokes are rusty, and that people usually expect gallows humor from them... ... Or bone puns - Death continues, looking to the side. Winter Song Part 1 (Thread 2/3)
Santa explains that he was doing nothing special, watching the stars shine and the snow fall (implying he's been there a while), and thinking of the homes he visited in this location long ago. The Grim Reaper remarks that this place "used to be bumpin'... Before the thing happened. Well... many things happened. In a row. It's a shame." The view pans out to reveal a destroyed city with a smaller village near it. The Grim Reaper notes that humans are tough, and have built a new place from the ruins of the previous one, but that these current humans don't believe in the myth of Santa. Santa asks if the Grim Reaper has been well.

2 panels showing Santa wearing a hood and earmuffs looking up. The Grim Reaper, with a crow on his shoulder, notices Santa as he wades in between the trees. The Grim Reaper happily acknowledges Santa, saying "well play my ribcage like a xylophone, look who it is!" The Grim Reaper asks Santa what he's doing here, implying this location isn't one of his usual haunts (while the Grim Reaper goes everywhere due to his job). Santa greets the Reaper, wishing him merry Yule.

The crows remark that humans are very particular about the shape and color of the sky bit they can, and that they love fun-shaped views (windows) because it makes them feel fancy.
