Thank you for your terse assessment, but I did not steal anything.

I read about it in National Geographic, thought it interesting and timely, and merely scaled it down in order to share.

I didn't even look to see who the author was, so forgive me for that, and I will certainly message him.

Taking without permission and passing off as your own work something written by someone else is the textbook definition of plagiarism, which is theft.

My assessment was terse because – despite your denial – it was accurate, and therefore did not need to be wordy.

The implications stand.
