Midwestern guy trying to make sense of it all.
In 1860, Abraham Lincoln concludes his Cooper Union speech to Republicans imploring them to “have faith that right makes might.” Mr. Miller’s statement is the inverse of this.

Trump always describes tariffs as the end goal, the thing he wants and loves, his “favorite word”. But his underlings always describe them as a means to achieve another goal. They are leverage in a negotiation or an incentive to develop manufacturing jobs, but never the end goal alone.

When the proposal is to raise taxes on the affluent and wealthy, the response from Republicans is, “How dare you!”, but when ordinary people have to settle for less, that’s to be expected, because they are “ordinary”.

Boy when it’s “In 2018 private citizen Joe Biden loaned his brother money and then his brother paid him back and that’s presidential corruption” they are all for rampant speculation, but with Trump they’re not ready to accept clear-as-day facts without reading every document and the footnotes.

Does he expect us to believe someone who has done nothing wrong would just accept an undeserved dismissal? Not accepting a dismissal one thinks is unjust is hardly evidence of bad conduct.

Man, for a party that has won 2 of the last three presidential elections, Republicans sure complain a lot about how rigged elections are and how people shouldn’t trust their reported results.
