Sincere question, feel free to tell me to get lost, but how does it work? I’ve always added alt text to any photo/gif I’ve posted but admittedly don’t understand what can be done with it. Do screen readers and other tools know to look for it?

Coming back for my 5th visit in May or June… one of the only places I’ve been that always feels like home

I remember seeing a post (probably in the conspiracy theory subreddit) suggesting that Rudy went after the Italian mob so aggressively in order to make room for Russian organized crime to thrive in NY, eventually leading to Trump’s rise. I think they were onto something with that one.

Wait, I’m feeling kinda dumb. For some reason, I saw the crosswalk signal as walk when I looked at the photo (maybe b/c it’s a black and white photo?). You can ignore me entirely 😳
December 11, 2025 at 2:29 PM
Interesting! I always thought crosswalks were timed to be “red” at the same time as the traffic light. Thanks for replying.
December 11, 2025 at 2:27 PM
Huh, I wouldn’t have expected the light to go yellow until the don’t walk sign was on (or counting down).

Great photo, but why would the cars be trying to “beat” a green light?

I knew of a place that had a very small office in Hawaii to minimize the overnight work - rotating through there was the dream for the mainland employees.

@dieworkwear.bsky.social why does something look “off” about his coat? I think I like it, but it doesn’t look right on him.

There have been a few holograms, the first one I remember was Tupac like 10 years ago. But that was a 3d projection of old video. Sadly I bet it’s just a matter of time before they combine the holograms with “AI” to show unique performances, if they haven’t already

I could be wrong, but I think the Prowler came out before the pt cruiser… back when Chrysler was *trying things*. Almost can’t believe either of them got made 🤣

Spotify does this year! And I was surprised for a sec to see them above Conan on my list, but I really haven’t missed a second of the ‘cast. And they’ve sent me down so many great rabbit holes

Yes, it’s murder, plain and simple. Further to your point, drug running boats make relatively short runs up the Lesser Antilles and drop their cargo off-island for the next boat to grab and advance. Sometimes the ultimate destination is the USVI or PR, sometimes it isn’t. None of it is fentanyl.

Milk steak with a side of jelly beans is the correct answer.

My hunch is that AI wasn’t good enough yet when most of these accounts were created. Those soulless eyes, extra fingers, etc. would’ve given them away much more easily.

I like this. To me, it feels like:

Machine learning = “this tool has a purpose and actually solves the problem”

AI = “this has created many more problems but we still want to profit from the mess we made”

I’m not a lawyer but there was a thread about this yesterday. I understand that they can do what you suggested, but it’s common in D.C. to re-draft with only the “yes” counts - Halligan’s error is the full grand jury still needs to vote on the updated version.

This case is well-known to D.C. prosecutors. In fact, the process of taking an indictment where a portion has been rejected, re-drafting it, and presenting the amended version to the grand jury for a vote is called "Gaitherizing."

That was awesome. I can barely remember my parents’ phone number but 281 330 8004 is seared into my memory

I agree with your entire thread, with one caveat: the cyber insurance market is very soft right now, so underwriters may not be too pushy about infra and may prefer to just take on who they can. I’d say MFA and backups are really the big must haves (and both may be simple yes/no questions).

There’s at least one, but accountability is still far too rare.
