Is it giving you any error messages? And what's it doing exactly? Is it running slow before shutting down? Is it opening popups? Also, if you are able to, press CTRL+ALT+ESC and bring up task manager (Assuming its a windows computer) and see if anything odd is loaded.

Its tone and feel are MUCH different from earlier Dragon Age games, its more light hearted feeling. Some of the character interactions and dialogue feel unnatural, and somewhat uncomfortable, but I actually enjoyed the combat system and general flow. Liked it more as a game than Roleplaying.
