Every grammatical source I'm aware of says that "none" can be treated as singular or plural. In math, where it's the sort of thing we often want to say, my sense is that "none are" is used more frequently.

You said that the provisions of the BBB would not add to the deficit. An estimate from the Wharton School of Business says that it will increase the deficit by over 3 trillion dollars in the next ten years.

My wife & I (circa 1979) were waiting in line outside a theatre in Manhattan. I spotted a college acquaintance up ahead, and told Jan I was going to walk up there and talk to him. I started chatting with him, and eventually said that I was a Ph.D. student in math at Columbia.
