@fredrin.megatokyo.com Had to clean up a bit of a spit-take this morning. Did my weekly MT check and was _not_ prepared for "fox girl in a schoolgirl outfit" on the sad girls in snow site. (Probably should have been, my bad.)

Reminder: From now to Jan 2nd is emotionally brutal for many. It feels like a season of kindness, charity, and relationship has ended. It feels like, "Can I just get back to work already?" It feels incredibly lonely.

Be patient with others, they may need it.

Recently I heard, "Due to company policy..." from a tech startup, and I've decided that's a good way to tell when a company's not a startup anymore.

Today I misread a "Line Forms Here" sign as "Life Forms Here". How was your day?

A mid-life crisis is realizing that you're now more comfortable sitting on the toilet than you are laying in bed.

Honestly it feels pretty fair that there are so many headlines worried about the pseudo-intelligence of AI given how many headlines there are about the pseudo-intelligence of humanity.

ME: "There are two types of people: those who can extrapolate from incomplete data..."

MY 11-YEAR-OLD, EAVESDROPPING: "What's the other type of person, Dad?"

Just saw a Subaru BRZ tS for the first time today, and I have a new conspiracy theory!

2019: Subaru refrains from making a tS trim this year

2019: Tilt Five Kickstarter

2020 and onwards: tS trim is back again

I finally finished a game yesterday which was awesome and pretty immersive. Then the protagonist decides to doom everyone on a different planet for a low-percentage chance at saving Earth and I have never been yanked out of immersion so fast.

Being Older Than Google, for me, means the internet is always primarily for sharing cat pictures and random jokes. Any actual utility is a bonus.

Maybe the word "game-changing" is so ubiquitous in marketing because none of us know what game we're playing... We just know we'd like a different one, thanks very much.

Did anyone actually get a lesson on "life is full of entropy, if you don't fight against it things _will_ get worse" growing up? I feel like it's easy to discover accidentally once you're an adult, but the impact of it would be best felt on those younger.

About 40 hours into Veilguard and still fairly certain that I can manage a happy ending somehow. My wife (who has finished it) assures me it won't happen.
AND YET I BELIEVE - THE DAWN WILL COME
