Made an eye appointment for next week while I'm off work because the daily headaches are getting to me.

I work across the street from the Space Needle. Couldn't see it from the clinic when I left today. Some coworkers stuck around with their families to watch the fireworks but got texts that everyone's leaving because the fog is too thick. Glad I opted to stay home. Half asleep.

10:12pm. Half asleep on the sofa. I'm not sure I'm gonna make it to midnight...

Got sucked into a conversation with an OT and an SLP that I work with re: new years traditions and superstitions and now:

-we're all eating oranges today and tomorrow.

-everyone has cash to put in their pockets for tonight.

-none of us are doing laundry tomorrow.

Last work day of 2025. The clinic is ending on a better note than it started on in many ways, but getting us here took everything I had in me. I am looking forward to a break next week. A week off. No big travel. No overwhelming plans. A reset.

We bought our house in 2016. Every year since, our realtor drops off for us a small holiday gift. This year, it's a bottle of bubbly and the smallest container of OJ that he could find.

Clearly, he does mimosas like we do... Heavy on bubbles, very light on OJ.

It's 8:25pm and I'm half asleep and I'm gonna try to make it to midnight tomorrow?

LOL.

Working this week is brutal. Almost worse than last week lol.

Every summer we grow a bunch of tomatoes and basil so I spent a day making homemade pasta sauce to freeze with the extra tomatoes and basil.

Which brings me to why the house smells like summer right now...

Unrelated, my new policy is that if I happen to come across a post on here with a pic of a cross-stitch WIP, I will like it.

MA, seeing me in pj pants and a sweatshirt: "have you given up on life?"

He forgot that it's pj day lol.

(But yeah, 2025 came very close to breaking me and there's still another week to go, so plenty of time to finally crack under the stress/weight of it all.)

Day after Christmas Day. Back at work. Even less traffic this AM than Christmas Eve. We declared today "wear your pj's to work day" but I have a change of professional clothes just in case I need to see a patient.

(It's an admin day for me, which I desperately need. I'm so behind.)

Hubs and I (we don't have kids) just do stockings for each other for Christmas and as the years have passed, it's gone from just stockings to stockings and overflow bags lol.
December 25, 2025 at 7:27 PM
My family is celebrating Christmas together the first weekend of January because it's some work for my brother's family to get to the rest of us. So today is low key.

Right now it's just the fire and me.

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate!

Home from a 12-hour day in clinic to homemade smoked salmon Caesar salad, champagne, and some absolutely beautiful flowers from hubs' brother and SIL.

Feet are up.
Christmas movies on.
Finally exhaling from a very long day.

Bright side: traffic was lighter than average.
Sending positive vibes to everyone working today and tomorrow.

Signed, someone working today

It's been a bit of a rough and sad day at work (sometimes medicine is really hard on your heart) so I'm gonna head home and stuff my face with sushi and drink some brut cava and try to forget.

Weekend to recovery from today and then I'll bounce back on Monday, ready to go. As always.

I just want to say that I 1000% blame the Ducks for the Seahawks jerseys tonight.

It's here: our lists of the most checked-out books of the year! In 2025, Seattle read a bunch of local authors, a wildly popular romantasy, and some older titles with a lasting impact.

Borb season is here.
A robin in a frosty Forest of Dean. The most obvious and cheering of all #winterbirds.

The one time I actually remember a reusable grocery bag and the store is giving away one free reusable grocery bag per customer today.
