Not entirely true. White Canadians west of Quebec can probably pass for Americans to Americans.

Canadians, btw, very good at telling Americans from fellow Canadians.

(a really, really, really big border)

With a smidgen of farce sauce.

Also Canada is generally on its best available behaviour at all times.

Somebody really liked their prepatory sketch!

Alas, my local Superstore is not carrying President's Choice corn flakes, so I can neither check or buy them if Canadian.

The nearest grocery store to me carries Nature's Path cornflakes, which is a Canadian company whose corn flakes are made in the US.

tiny-hands-picked?
December 29, 2025 at 3:13 PM
I used to watch the TV show on the regular; and while I know the actual lyrics, my brother and I used to sing it as "how would you like your eggs today" Did we make this up, or get it from somewhere?

Or perform Killing In The Name, and only Killing In The Name, on repeat, for the entire set?
December 28, 2025 at 3:56 PM
also, "relationship"
December 28, 2025 at 3:53 PM
Huh. I'll look at the box the next time I go to Superstore. Most Loblaws branded products don't actually say where they're made; but some of them are definitely made in the US.
December 28, 2025 at 4:14 AM
WTF is a "public artist" and where is it defined what their "duty" is?
December 28, 2025 at 3:24 AM
Nobody seems to actually manufacture them in Canada though, alas. President's Choice _sells_ them, but they don't sell exclusively made-in-Canada products.

I was never a bourbon drinker; I like single-malt Scotches. I do miss corn flakes, though.
December 27, 2025 at 8:06 PM
Reporting, even in Canada, keeps describing this as a tariff thing, but as someone living in Canada who talks to a lot of Canadians, nobody is angry about the unprovoked trade war as such, we're angry about threats to our sovereignty.
December 27, 2025 at 8:00 PM
I use inexpensive brandy for that and it turns out great, just fyi.
December 27, 2025 at 7:54 PM
Yeah, supply management is looking better and better, eh?
December 27, 2025 at 7:46 PM
This is only partly true; it's still difficult to find certain products that aren't made in the US (notably cleaning products and some breakfast cereals) but the liquor went quicker because of Canada's regulations around distribution of booze.
December 27, 2025 at 7:44 PM
There's also mutual patent acceptance, especially of things like prescription drugs. It's here, but it doesn't have to stay.
December 27, 2025 at 1:03 AM
this person, is she a lawmaker in a country that has laws about abortion? Instead of treating it like the normal health care that it is? Start there.
December 26, 2025 at 6:59 PM
Or possibly gentiles who love fried food. That's why I show up to Hannukah celebrations.
December 25, 2025 at 4:19 PM
Well, I'm a professional baker, so of course I have more than one oven thermometer and I have mentally calibrated all the ovens I regularly have access to, because ovens aren't even but they're usually fairly consistent in how off they are from the temperature you set them to. But, yeah, obnoxious.
December 25, 2025 at 4:11 PM
Will you give a bye if Rage Against The Machine appears to to play Killing In The Name?

It won't happen, but it would be so beautiful.
December 21, 2025 at 6:44 PM
My great-great-great-grandfather won the Medal of Honor; maybe I'm a heritage American too? (he abandoned his wife and son in England , I'm descended from the abandoned son, and I emigrated from the UK to Canada) (also he won it in the Indian wars no I'm not proud)
December 21, 2025 at 6:28 PM
I understand dude's name misspelled there; it's actually No-Bill Essayli.
