It maybe had to do with the death threats harassment that Mat Ward got from maladjusted folks who didn't liked the codices that he wrote. Yet it doesn't justify the removal of credit for older pieces.

Oh yeah, almost forgot that one. Which page was it? Page 5?

They look nice, and don't sweat it that it took months. It took me ten years to paint one drop pod.

Sahelanthropus walking on two legs, Ammonites in the Paleocene and now european ceratopsians. The year starts strong. What's next? Non flying Bat Ancestors?

Too soon would be 5 minutes after you just watched it, so I would say go for it.

Meant to say conference, and it was about the messel pit and adjacent paleontological research.

I got to attend my first Scientific convention and had the opportunity to show preliminary results from my Bachelors thesis to seasoned scientists.

DNA evidence is *very* extremely conclusive.

There is a problem though: even though the odds of a false match are like one in a billion, laboratory error is not.

It is illegal to mention this.

Pretty much all the pig procedurals you've seen for the last two decades delighted in showing you forensics that are about as real as phrenology.

The technique, developed before DNA testing, can’t definitively tie suspects to crime scenes. Try explaining that to juries — or some judges.

I think a lot of the backlash is fueled by the desire of many to have a good guy in such a problematic industry. I assume it's fueled by disappointment. And while I wouldn't use the term distraction I agree that the likes of Microsoft deserve far more flak.

Maybe they can better themselves. But for me, it will take a long time till I believe them.

It's the lying to the IndieAwards that angers me. They said in an interview that they used AI, but "just a little". While telling the jury "we didn't use it" that's absolutely behavior without integrity. Mistakes and faults are perfectly forgivevable, but that was no mistake.
December 27, 2025 at 1:49 PM
Considering that there were still AI assets in the game at launch, that were patched out 5 days later, and they told the IndieAwards that no Gen"AI" was used in development, makes me doubt how serious their rejection really was.
December 27, 2025 at 1:27 PM
If they are willing to lie for an award what else are they willing to lie about? This seems very shady to me.
December 24, 2025 at 8:36 PM
I can't take their reasoning in good faith. They used AI BS during early development, it doesn't matter how much or little, there where AI assets in the finished game upon release and they lied about their AI use to the IndieAwards when they submitted their game.
December 24, 2025 at 8:35 PM
That's exactly my sentiment. AI use alone would have killed any interest in this game for me. But this behavior makes me genuinly angry.
