I was in Phuket for a short holiday (that's another story) which also coincided with Songkran, the Thai New Year celebrated with water-filled festivities! #photography #thailand #songkran

Howdy! Here are some images from a studio lighting class I ran on Saturday -- along the theme of Vikings and Valkyries. I've found that participants tend to respond more to themed shoots because they can see the connection between lighting style and mood/ambience created. #studiophotography

We're going through a heatwave in Perth at the moment (41C yesterday, 38C today) so I'll just post some images taken in/around the sea while the heat is on. #photography #coogeebeach #summerheat

A few images from Naoussa (in Paros, Greece), taken just after daybreak when no one else was around except for a handful of cats. #photography #greece #travel

Shades of Aegean blue. These images were taken at or around the island of Paros in the Cyclades. The first is the charming (and now, very boutique) port of Naoussa. The second taken late morning shows the intense blue of the Aegean and the crystal clear water. #photography #greecetravel #travel

Apparitions. Perth City - Forrest Place. It was late afternoon but the light inside the old Post Office Building (now a string of chain retailers) brought out these child mannequins. They looked sinister to me. #photography #perthphotos

Observations in #Fremantle. I led the "Freo Forms" Photo Walk on Saturday. We rambled around the new Freo Civic Centre and FOMO building. A lot of fun, and then wetting whistles at Varsity Bar Fremantle. The refurbished precinct has a happy mix of old, new and kitsch. Love it! #photography

Portraits from Agios Kyriaki, Pelion, Greece.
I spent a day in this little coastal village last year - it's small and welcoming. There's a smattering of tourists - mainly Greeks and a few catamarans bobbing at the harbour, fronted by tavernas. There's hardly a souvenir shop. #photography #greece

Last year, I joined a sailing cruise in the Sporades, Greece. I've been to Skopelos and Skiathos before, some 10 years ago, but wanted to further explore the islands. One of our stops was in the small harbour of Klima on Skopelos, with its picturesque marina and harbour cats. #greece #photography

I've just asked ChatGP+ to write a poem in modern English, iambic pentameter and rhyming couplets, about a particular topic and theme. And it did an impressive composition. I'm floored. When did CGP+ become so... advanced? 😵‍💫

I'm on a journey to push my own photographic boundaries. I usually shoot travel and documentary but have felt stale and quite flat for a while. I don't want to stop shooting and creating, so I've pivoted somewhat and am trying techniques and styles that don't normally appeal to me. #photography

I’ve been binge watching Vienna Blood on #sbsondemand and it’s reeled me in hook line and sinker. The leads are charismatic and make good use of the mismatched sleuths trope and the setting of turn of the century Vienna is so luscious that it makes me want to board a plane and fly to Austria.

Two scenes from Lebutala, a Bengali community, in Kolkata. Most people visit Lebutala for the hand-pull rickshaws (Kolkata is the only city in India where you can still find such rickshaws in older districts), but the community and street vibe here is just incredible. #Kolkata #Photography
