Café con Leche is a friendly monthly gathering my office hosts where staff and legislators come together over coffee to learn and practice Spanish. Thanks to José in my office for organizing this popular and engaging way to improve our ability to communicate with all our constituents!
A sign advertising Cafe con Leche propped up on some nearby books. The logo on the sign features a yellow circle with the name of the event and a small speech bubble to emphasize the conversation that takes place. A group of diverse people are lined up facing one another to practice their Spanish skills. Everyone seems happy, smiling and laughing as they practice speaking with their partners.

There are nine Public Library branches in the beautiful 27th District, including Alicia Ashman on Madison’s West Side, where I stopped in the other day. It’s Library Card Sign-up Month, the perfect time to “check out” our outstanding public libraries.
State Senator Dianne Hesselbein stands between the shelves at the library and holds up a brightly-colored book. She is a white woman with medium brown hair wearing a black and white striped shirt.

Trump’s Big, Ugly, Bill targets Planned Parenthood. Abortion is and remains legal in Wisconsin. @repgreta.bsky.social and I are speaking out.
A graphic on a pink and grey background. At the top, the headline reads, "Right now! Planned Parenthood pauses abortion services." Below, a quote from State Senator Dianne Hesselbein and State Representative Greta Neubauer reads, "Planned Parenthood is a cornerstone of Wisconsin's health care system. It is very clear that the Trump administration and Republican extremists are focused on targeting access to reproductive health care. Planned Parenthood's announcement that it is pausing abortion services is the latest example of the devastating effects of Trump's Big, Ugly Bill."

Important discussions at the Dane County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting. In Dane County, farmers face challenges that make farming operations less sustainable and just plain harder. Ensuring a stronger, more resilient future for our farmers is vital. We have work to do!

I am inspired every day by the families and veterans who have shared their stories with me. Today, we honor the courage of prisoners of war and we resolve to continue the search for all who never came home.

I stand with healthcare workers at Janesville’s Mercyhealth East Clinic in their fight for safer working conditions for themselves and their patients and fair wages. Members of UAW Local 95 have been on strike since July. Time for Mercyhealth to come back to the table.

In the background, many of the striking workers look on and are joined by other labor leaders and legislators showing their support. Approximately two dozen UAW workers in red shirts gather for a group photo on the steps of the Wisconsin capitol. They are all wearing matching shirts and most are holding signs that bear the UAW logo or proclaim that they are striking.
