Lynn Faust loved fireflies as a girl and noticed their dazzling display in Elkmont, a community in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. When Elkmont was shut down, Lynn discovered that these fireflies were unique with a synchronous pattern and wrote to scientists about this discovery.
