So, my takeaways on this. Sandfall shouldn't have lied. IGA should have confirmed the validity like any organization should. I hate AI but it's not going away anytime soon, therefore it needs extreme regulation. I can forgive the simple use of AI as placeholders. E33 is still one of my fav games.

Again, Sandfall shouldn't have lied about it. But IGA shouldn't be on an honor system either, if only to ignore controversies like this. But then bad press is better than none, I suppose, and the world loves drama. All in all, this should have never been a thing to begin with.

It's a fact that there was an interview back in the summer about the placeholders. So why were they even allowed to be nominated in the first place then? Why did no one apparently fact-check anything beforehand? I'm just saying that maybe IGA needs to be held accountable too for this.

But I think the IGA should be questioned as well on why wasn't there any investigating done to determine the truth beforehand? Why are they relying on the honor system in a world that sees more lies than truth?

First, sorry for the long thread. All I will say on this is: For better or for worse, AI isn't going away. I think what matters more is how it's used. In this case, it's was for placeholders, not exactly a deal-breaker and it was an issue quickly fixed. Should they have lied about it, of course not.

(Damn word limit) We have to pass things on to the next generation. It doesn't diminish Cena to pass that on to Gunther. It allows him to leave gracefully and boost Gunther to help carry the future of the industry. It's the cycle that will always spin and is necessary.
