This was in Florida, US a few years ago. It turned on when it switched from the cross traffic turning left to the perpendicular traffic both turning green. I had a red light for both and no warning indication anywhere to be seen. I'm still mad about the ticket as it felt entirely unfair.

The temporary reds have no warning indicator which makes them horrible in both a functional manner as well as a safety perspective. Humans do not have an instant reaction time. Source: Got a ticket for right on red with the indicator off half a second before I turned.

I just managed to get mine after 6 months without. Near zero executive function for 6 months is not a good time. Best of luck that you can get yours soon!!

Depends on your tech level tbh. If you want to tinker and be able to do basically whatever (console) but still have a pretty standard router experience, I recommend like an Edgerouter from Ubiquity. Anything more advanced than that and I'd probably build my own and throw pfsense or opensense on it.
