what are you talking about? the official app lets you peruse "threaded discussions" just fine. i haven't paid a dime for reddit ever, but i'm a human being in the 21st century who knows where ads are on sites i frequent and how to avoid them. not sure what the dev point is

what are you seeing that i'm not? asking in earnest: using the same font weight on title headers, big blocky separators and the nearly default-app-interface looking menu at the top certainly aren't "more polished". it looks like a lightweight client.

in my experience, those third-party apps feel like third-party alternatives. they feel cheap and barebones. some people like that, but to act like they're wholesale improvements upon the existent formula is disingenuous

it's fluid, responsive and gesture/motion intuitive. yes, littered with ads and the UI team keeps moving buttons and menus, but by-and-large it's pretty much about as good as big platform apps get lol

it's not some groundbreaking app, but it's not nearly as bad as most detractors make it out to be

i think it'd a neat outcome if so, but i'm not quite ready to think Jimmy's window is closed, especially with the Heat's 2023-2024 salary structure and how flexibly it seems to be built. i think there's another shot in there
