What, substantially, has the Governor of the wealthiest and most populous State done to counter Trump’s excesses besides a little name-calling? How has he protected the citizens of his state? Whom does his platforming of and agreement with odious right-wingers help? How has he used his veto?

I found the prose clunky and unmusical. On a sentence-by-sentence level it was not enjoyable for me. That’s a problem of style, and not one I’m convinced would be fixed by aging it up. I very much enjoyed Clive Barker, Ursula LeGuin, and Terry Praychett’s works written for younger audiences
