It's called the People's House for a reason. Mark Robinson's decision to clear the Senate gallery ahead of the veto override vote for #SB382 was cowardly and pathetic, just like the GOP's attempt to steal power from the people elected by the voters under the guise of Helene relief.

Watching the news tonight is hazardous to our collective health. Gender affirming care is lifesaving medicine. Don’t wind up with literal blood on your hands in this “culture war”.

All this conversation about how the science of gender affirming care “hasn’t developed enough” is disingenuous. The whole point of science is that it is always evolving. I call bullsh**.

As a mother, I know that if one of my kids needed life-saving care (gender affirming or otherwise) that was outlawed by the state I would be a criminal without hesitation. This is surely what will happen if the Supreme Court upholds this ban on care they’re considering.

Alright NC. Time to call your State Representatives NOW! Ask them to uphold Governor Cooper's veto of SB 382. SB 382 is actually a stripping of power from duly elected officials wrapped up in the disguise of a hurricane disaster relief bill.

After once again removing outraged citizens from the building, the NC Senate voted today to override Gov. Cooper's veto on SB382. The House will vote on Dec 9th. If even one of the three Republicans who voted against this bill the first time vote against it this time, the veto will stand. #NCPol

This week, the Republican-led North Carolina General Assembly passed a bill to eliminate two elected Superior Court judicial seats. The two judges currently occupying those seats had previously ruled against #NCGA overreach. This is the past 14 years of #ncpol in a nutshell.
