Yeah, fair. It's mostly why I stick with pairing Zoya with my Deaf OC since it gives me creative freedom to write and headcanon about them as I want, even if my OC has the Shackles and being a non-Chief.

Mm. I admit I struggled to read any ao3 fics of Chief ships (esp Zoyachief) because my brain is all "I wish the Chief is deaf like me" so partly why I lean onto pairing Zoya with an OC than the Chief to project myself into.
