Wonderful punk EP. Shows the best of their hardcore era but with hints of the melodic direction they'd take later in their career. Influence on melodic hardcore, alternative rock, and punk in general cannot be overstated. Easily among my favorite releases of all time

Great 80s hardcore debut. Hardcore punk mixed with west coast surf punk, with splashes of heavy metal. Music influenced crossover punk and thrash metal; band members influenced punk and metal fashion. Very very fun album. Obligatory mention of Pepsi...

Early British post-punk with beautiful songs and melodies buried under layers of almost overwhelming noise. Huge influence on noise rock, shoegaze, post punk, etc. Songwriting for everyone gatekept by blistering guitar tones for the few.

One of the great debut albums of early American punk rock. X wears their 50's rock roots on their sleeve without losing any edge. All the songs are about living in LA in the late 70s. The album closer "The World's a Mess: It's In My Kiss" convinced me keyboards were kickass.
