It's both insane and incredibly smart when you think of it, because just changing Link to be right handed would likely have caused issue because all the game was built relative to where his swords and shield are. This way the game sayed identical just... mirrored 😅

I'm reminded of when my favourite brand of delicious frozen pizzas (three cheese : elemental, mozzarella, edam) decided to ruin it all by adding GOAT CHEESE to it.

There's that to a degree but it really felt each showrunner just didn't care about what came before. It's still my sour grapes about Picard (I really wanted to see Picard adventure aboard La Sirena with his new found family, and MORE Soji !)

IIRC correctly even Jordan basically admitted that CoT didn't work like he hoped, but well Knife of Dreams sure made up for it, amazing one.
At the end of it even with the slow parts, WoT is just a must read.

What's hilarious about this quote, is that even James Cameron doesn't want to make gritty "though guys" movies anymore, and I'm absolutely sure this is why nerds hate on Avatar, they don't want a slice of life series with an ecological and anticolonial message.

I don't even think they expanded on it, they just UNDERSTOOD the Force in a way fans never did. It's perfectly in line with what Lucas did, it's just that most fans never understood Lucas.

Picard S2 wasn't terrible (though it sorta felt like an inferior mix of IV&FC) but felt like it was hell-bent on destroying everything S1 built and set up which is my big issue with it.
Generally speaking each season of Picard just felt like a different show that just wanted to do it's own thing.

Looking at how past films imagined the "future" always has something just saddening.
I remember Looper (great film!) a decade later and it almost felt like filmmaker stopped hoping for a future that wouldn't just be a slightly different present time.
