I’ve been thinking a lot about art and how it lives on outside of and after us, and I feel about this series like I do about the Calvin pissing on stuff stickers you see on cars- it’s a huge bummer to see characters rehashed by someone who clearly totally missed the point.

Also, piggy is treated like a villain that nobody actually likes and it makes me so sad. She’s always been loud, proud, and catty, but also beloved! Also, really smart- they’ve written her as so surface level, and it’s a bummer.

Also, why is Scooter still the stage manager at a new theater? His whole thing was that he was terrible at it but was a nepo baby at his uncle’s theater and couldn’t be fired- I love him but it doesn’t make sense for him to suddenly act competently. It flattens his character completely?

And Kermit and piggy’s divorce arc is a whole other thing- the joke was always that they were an unlikely couple, together for reasons we’d never fully understand. To separate them feels like ripping apart a decades old joke. It’s supposed to be a subversive move, but it’s just dropping the ball!

I’m only 1.5 episodes in and have so many thoughts- why are Fozzie and Kermit not hanging out at all, even in passing? Their relationship should be meshing perfectly, even if they don’t have screen time together. There’s not an implied inseperable connection, like there should be after so much time?
