In Bolivia’s Cordillera Real, the Condoriri Massif soars skyward in the shape of a condor with wings spread.. 🦅
Its glaciers have lost 50% of their mass since the 1960s, yet they remain an important lifeline, providing drinking water for nearly 2 million people in La Paz and El Alto. 💧🚰💧
This photograph captures the breathtaking Condoriri Massif in Bolivia’s Cordillera Real, a rugged mountain range that lies about 30 kilometers northeast of La Paz at roughly 16° south of the equator, making it one of the world’s most equatorial glaciated regions. In the foreground, turquoise waters of Laguna Chiar Khota shimmer under the high-altitude sun, framed by a rustic stone wall of piled rocks that hints at the region’s Andean cultural heritage. Rising dramatically in the background are the snow-capped peaks of the Condoriri group, named for their resemblance to a condor with wings spread in flight. The central summit, Cabeza del Cóndor, towers to 5,648 meters above sea level, flanked by Ala Izquierda (5,532 m) and Ala Derecha (5,482 m), their black rock faces sharply contrasted by lingering glaciers. The Tuni–Condoriri glaciers act as a critical freshwater reserve, supplying drinking water to nearly 2 million residents of La Paz and neighboring El Alto, particularly during the dry season when glacial melt becomes the main source of flow. Scientists warn that if current warming trends continue, these glaciers could vanish by mid-century, threatening both the iconic landscape and the water security of Bolivia’s high-altitude capital. It still blows my mind that Voyager 1 has been travelling through space at over 60,000 km/h for as long as Ive been alive - and it still hasn’t even reached the Oort Cloud.. 🤯🤯🤯

The more intense the hue, the healthier they are, and thus more likely to find a mate. About half of all breeding pairs (~20,000) nest in Galapagos.

Started restoring the next section this morning, Rubber Bands.
It’s painstakingly slow, but it’ll be totally worth it once the whole project is finished. 🎞️

This particular frame is from the episode titled “Rubber Bands,” currently being restored in 4K. The process combines AI-powered video upscaling with detailed manual work. Each frame is carefully reviewed to remove dust, scratches, and visual defects that current AI tools still struggle with. This painstaking frame-by-frame restoration preserves Feynman’s iconic expressions and hand gestures while improving clarity and fidelity for a new generation of viewers.

I’ve added a screenshot so you can see part of my workflow. Each purple bar you see, when zoomed in, is multiple single frame I’ve edited. So far that’s over 2600 frames and around 150 hours of work just on these sections.
