Two recent purchases I'm looking forward to running in 2026 are The One Ring and Break!!. The One Ring looks like it really captures the intentions of Tolkien regarding trauma and fellowship. Break!! I think I am the most excited for because of its simple rules and interesting setting.

I know this isn't exactly a fresh take, but I don't think Dark Souls is the epitome of "hard games". FTL and Darkest Dungeon has crushed my spirit much more thoroughly than any of the Souls games.

Tough pill to swallow for many bare armour enjoyers, but it was overwhelmingly popular to cover your armour (mail and/or plate) with a garment in the 14th century. Even 15th century, too.
