Playing the Visiting Faculty game of “I need to dedicate my time to the class I’m teaching. And I also need to dedicate my time to interview prepping for a permanent position somewhere else.” I’d be tearing my hair out if I wasn’t bald already. #iteachphysics

I don't think I realized quite how tired I would be at the end of the term until finals week hit, and now I'm just putting naps into my Google calendar

After much prepping, finally got to start our observational lab course this week. Nothing beats the first time the students see Saturn through a scope. So happy to hear their excitement. 🔭

Got to help run the observatory open house last night. Always so much fun to open the scopes to the public and look at Saturn and show things like globular clusters, planetary nebulae.

Had a great time at the Minnesota State Fair. Got my head out of course prepping for a day and let some butterflies land on me

My goal now that I'm on bluesky is to actually be more active. I was very not good at being active on Twitter, and I really want to participate and join the astronomer community here

Absolutely not tired yet of the view of Goodsell Observatory from my office window.

I'm sure the stress will kick in. But right now, planning an observational astronomy course for the first time just has me so excited to teach it. 🔭

Hi all! Happy to finally be here. I'm an astronomer focusing on massive black holes in dwarf galaxies - I'm currently a visiting Assistant Professor of physics and Astronomy at Carleton College in beautiful Northfield, Minnesota
