As far as I know, not an actor, BBC journalist, despised football manager, pharmacoepidemiologist or Councillor. Whoever I am, though, all views are my own.
I won something! I actually won something! A guy who used to be Lemmy's PA has written a book cum multimedia thingy about his time with him and appeared on @primordialradio.bsky.social's podcast. And I won a copy from the station. All the funny, but affectionate anecdotes! #metalsky

A big fuck cancer for Wildheart (left), who we had to say goodbye to this afternoon. For such a tiny cat, she's left a huge hole in our lives.

Go Home Whisky Exchange, you've had too many of your own products today.

Excellent news - Demonic Resurrection are supporting Bloodywood. I never really expected to see them again, so I'm made up. Bloodywood are great live as aell, and I really enyoyed Calva Louise last year (that keyboard - IYKYK). Anyone going to Bristol, I'll see you in The Gryphon before #metalsky

When metalheads do #burnssupper. Don't think @estpinkdent.bsky.social and I scrubbed up too badly for the Primordial Radio Burns Supper 2025.

#23Daysof4AD. Day 17 is a tribute to the great David Lynch, whose sad passing was announced yesterday. His work influenced the label's artists, and vice-versa, and he worked with Vaughan Oliver of 4AD's sleeve designers 23 Envelope and v23 for his own music.

23Daysof4AD Day 9 Thing 2. Along with This Mortal Coil, Cocteau Twins were some of my favourite sleeves. There was an elegant simplicity to them. If I had to pick 1 to exemplify this, then it would be the Head Over Heels album.

#23Daysof4AD Day 9. I always loved the whole 4AD aesthetic, and the artwork by 23 Envelope/ V23, and vinyl sleeves showcased it beautifully. Thing 1 is the 10" Come Here My Love/ Drugs single from 1988. I'll post the songs in comments for those who don't know them (or just want to hear them again).

Doesn't it! I have a new favourite hoodie from them now as well

Happy Christmas BlueSky to those who celebrate. No #beervent today, but looks! Santa went via Bristol Beer Factory on his rounds last night.

#Beervent day 24, and on the last day I finally get a stout. Shame I have to drive, but I shall look forward to it later.

#Beervent day 23 is my favourite beer so far, a warm, rich and spicy winter ale from Bellfield.

#Beervent day 22, and we're on a roll with the variety now. I'd expected Vault City to come up with something interesting, and they didn't disappoint with this sour. The only downside is my non beer-drinking wife likes it, and I'm having to keep close watch on it (and feed her cider).

#Beervent day 21. Shocking scenes here, as it isn't a pale ale. Or a lager. Instead, I have a best bitter that Pilot have brewed in collaboration with Simple Things Fermentation. It's fairly crisp and refreshing, but with a nice biscuity finish.

#Beervent day 20. Amazing! I've actually got ... another pale ale. Sigh.
December 20, 2024 at 7:23 PM
#Beervent day 19 is ... roll drums ... another lager. This one describes itself as Mexican-style, which puts me in mind of beers on a hot summer's day. I think I'll open one of my dark ones, especially as I'm recording a guest slot on a metal radio show tonight, and it's not very folk metal.

Cheers!

#Beervent day 18 is a NEIPA from Pilot. I'm enjoying discovering new breweries and beers, but with the arrival of case of the dark stuff, it had to be one of those tonight.

Sometimes the thought and timing behind something is everything, and in this case, it's making the always excellent Mighty Stout taste better than ever. Cheers!

My wonderful wifey saw that I was getting just pales and lagers from my advent calendar (good though they were), and got me a dark case from one of my favourite breweries, @tomstapandbrew.bsky.social Thankyou Wifey @estpinkdent.bsky.social! 😘

#Beervent day 17. Well colour me surprised, if it isn't another pale ale. The last Newbarns I had was good, and I'm sure this will be to.
December 17, 2024 at 8:18 PM
#Beervent day 16 (and this time it is - I checked). It's a lager. Again. Based on the standard so far, I'm sure Edinburgh Beer Factory's is very good, but there are only so many layers I can drink in the middle of winter, and so I'm keeping it and opening something dark instead.

#Beervent day 16 is a Pilsener- style lager from Barney's Beer. I might have complained about the lack of variety in this calendar (and will probably continue to do so), but you know what - this is an absolutely cracking beer. Definitely the best lager so far.
