Thousands of Bay Area residents gathered Saturday to protest shootings by federal immigration agents.

Saturday’s marches were mostly peaceful except for the one in Oakland, where a witness described dozens of protesters spraying graffiti and smashing windows at a federal building.

In Marin County, flooding left motorists stranded and kayakers paddling Saturday in areas where bicyclists usually pedaled. The high tides prompted a coastal flood advisory in effect through 2 p.m. Sunday for much of the Bay Area and Central Coast.

After weeks without snow and a delayed season opening date, Palisades Tahoe said storms delivered top-to-bottom snowfall over the past 72 hours, with up to 12 inches on the upper mountain as of Tuesday morning.

Forecasts are calling for more than 4 feet of snow tomorrow through Sunday.
