At events across the province, we asked members of the public to share their worst boss stories. A clear theme emerged: these workers weren't treated with safety, dignity or respect.

Last month, SGEU SODS steward Nazik Abdalla had the honour of speaking to members about the union at a workplace event.

She covered topics like union rep in meetings, staff responsibilities and accessing and reviewing your CBA.

Dec. 6 is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against Women, an opportunity to honour the 14 women killed in an act of violent misogyny in Montreal in 1989.

Earlier this week, members of the SGEU Women's Committee took part in a candlelight vigil in remembrance of the lives lost.

Last night, we were pleased to partner with the SK Writers Guild to present Working Verse, hosted by SGEU President Tracey Sauer and featuring Medrie Purdham & Barb Byers.

Those in attendance enjoyed a discussion about the role of labour in the arts and the role of the arts in the labour movement.

Thank you to everyone who attended Monday's screening of Forgotten Warriors (1997) in commemoration of Indigenous Veterans Day.

Presented by the SGEU Indigenous Committee, this film introduced us to thousands of Indigenous Canadians who enlisted in WWII.

This two-day forum gives stewards the chance to network, take part in educational sessions and hear from expert speakers to help them on their steward journey.

Tomorrow, November 8, is Indigenous Veterans Day, an opportunity to thank, honour and remember First Nations, Métis and Inuit people – past and present – for their service.

Yesterday, SGEU President Tracey Sauer, 1st Vice-President Diane Ralph and member Roger Dusseault participated in the annual Service of Remembrance of the Saskatchewan Public Service.

This event commemorates Public Service Employees who sacrificed their lives for freedom.

Today, on CBO Workers Appreciation Day, CUPE, SEIU-West, and SGEU, unions representing people in over 80 community-based organizations (CBOs) across Saskatchewan, are united in their call for immediate meaningful change in the sector.

After over three years without a deal, Saskatchewan health providers are tired of waiting.

Members from SGEU, CUPE and SEIU-West gathered at the legislative building today to call for better working conditions for health providers and improved care for the people of Saskatchewan.
