I coached softball from 85-06. Once in a while a kid would be picked on for wearing glasses. Or they would be nervous about playing while wearing glasses. I'd show them Rance.

Jays fan here. If Toronto sports fans rioted every time they have been disappointed, downtown would look like Berlin 1945. I get Mariners fans are disappointed, but at the start of the year if you were told your team would be in Game 7 of the ALCS, you would have thought that was great.

On this day in 1812 Major General Sir Isaac Brock fell in battle at Queenston Heights on the Niagara River, repelling an American invasion/invitation to become the 19th state. In death, Brock became "The Hero of Upper Canada". Several escalating battles led to the burning of Washington DC in 1814

When I heard Radio Baghdad International in the early 1980s, Iraq was not top of mind in North America. If anyone had heard of it they were probably a stamp collector, a shortwave listener or a viewer of I Dream of Jeannie. Jeannie had family in Baghdad.
