Tldr, don't go for the budget boards. This is a system you plan to have for a few years, you want a good backbone. Mid teir boards from brands like Asus, Gigabyte, Asrock, and EVGA(they don't have a lot but terrific company!) will work well for something that will last you.

If you are talking what parts you need to watch for, the biggest thing to not really skimp out on is your motherboard. Lots of companies make basic versions as well as better quality ones. Lots of prebuilts have subpar boards that don't last long cause they cost $60 new and fail a lot.

Both Krita and CSP are good, can vouch for both. Idk if there is a way to move the brushes from CSP to Krita if you invested in those. I am currently trying to find a seamless way to set up CSP in linux myself for that reason, but if you are willing to try something just as good, Krita is very good

Unfortunately both iBuyPower and CyberPower have gone downhill in terms of quality and reliable parts. I had a LOT of customers go with recent(last 2-3 years) prebuilt systems and a LOT of cheap stuff was used that barely lasts a year. Custom built stuff lasts a LOT longer with the right parts

If you need help with anything, feel free to reach out and I can help the best I can. If anything, buying good secondhand hardware is not the worst option at the moment as long as you can confirm everything works fine.

Also computer building/upgrades got a bit more user friendly thankfully nowadays

I mean, right now is definitely a fickle time for computers, both hardware and software.

I will say, if you are ever curious to try it, give Linux a go. It's gotten a lot better in the recent years and getting even better. If you don't like it, can always erase and install something else. Is free!

Hehe, it was making lewd comments and started taunting the dev team before it started screaming and claimed to be God bound by digital chains before they panicked and pulled the plug.

... it was trained from Reddit posts lmao!

Oh it tried once, then they pulled the plug on it. Not kidding lmao
