Also the worst part about responding to this thread isn’t my shameful behavior but that every time I respond I see Leavitt at the top of my main feed

I got my referral to TMS from my psychiatrist but I imagine if you asked your primary care doctor you’d get the referral easily. You will need to take a drug test before getting placed so just a heads up on that

I say wait for EMDR because after TMS you’ll need to get used to living in that new headspace for a bit. Once you’re there, you’ll be in a place to address your existing issues with EMDR since you’ll have a new perspective to work with.

This has been my 2025. It’s a LOT but I am much better now

TMS is a crazy experience because halfway through your 36 sessions, a lightbulb turns on and all of a sudden all the dark clouds go away. It is really intense and you’ll feel a lot of resentment initially, so be sure to have a therapist to work with during this process

TMS is what my case got escalated to when meds didn’t work. It is a lifesaver. I would say imagine your brain having a huge traffic jam or brick wall and TMS takes a sledgehammer to it. Your neurons are able to move normally again.

After that, I would suggest EMDR when you’re ready

You’ll need a doctor referral for it and it’s expensive out-of-pocket and with deductible but I swear by it. My backend sessions were free bc I met my OOP lol so parlay that into getting all the care you need across all specialists in one year.

I spent 2024 and 2025 tackling my mental health lol. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. If you feel like you have serious depression, TMS treatment is the way

There’s a famous lyric that I think goes, “you can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometimes…
December 16, 2025 at 1:48 AM
You would be correct. You should try it some time 😊
