The family of Dil Jan Baloch son of Allah Bakhsh, a resident of Tirtej, Awaran who has been enforcedly disappeared by security forces since the past six months. According to the family, the FC personnel came in four vehicles and abducted Dil Jan on 12 June, 2024.

According to the family, the FC personnel came in four vehicles and abducted Dil Jan on 12 June, 2024. Dil Jan’s family tried every possible step to bring him back. Previously they were assured by the District Administration- the Deputy Commissioner and Police Authorities – that he would be back in 10 days, but nothing happened. Dil Jan’s is still missing and his family in collective pain. Moreover, the same officials now do not even remember Dil Jan’s family, let alone the false assurances. The family then resorted to protest and started demanding justice on the roads. Even there, the LEAs harassed, intimidated and threatened them to give up protest and be silent. Still undeterred, Dil Jan’s family has now announced a protest on 18 November in Awaran. Baloch Yakjehti Committee appeals to the Baloch masses to join the protest, raise their voice for Dil Jan and be a support for his family in such hard time. The global community and HR organizations must also take notice of enforced disappearances in Balochistan. #EndEnforcedDisappearances #StopBalochGenocide

The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) strongly condemns the atrocities committed by the Coast Guard against border dwellers and impoverished Baloch fuel carriers. Yesterday, a tragic incident unfolded in Panwan Jewani, District Gwadar, where the paramilitary force Coast Guard opened fire directly on a vehicle carrying fuel. Fortunately, the driver survived, but the vehicle was burned to ashes. In response, the residents of Panwan resisted this brutality by blocking the main road. Although the Coast Guard and local administration promised concessions to the locals, leading to a delay in the protest, more than 24 hours have passed, and these promises remain unfulfilled. It is a well recognized reality that the people of Balochistan lack economic incentives and a basic economic structure. They are heavily reliant on border trade, which has long been an integral part of Baloch culture. The region is mired in poverty, with the majority of the population living below the poverty line. In such dire circumstances, where many struggle to afford even two meals a day, state atrocities and oppression only exacerbate their suffering. On a daily basis, border dwellers face humiliation and torture, violating their fundamental rights to income and sustainability. BYC stands firmly with the border community and advocates for peaceful trade opportunities for every Baloch individual dependent on border. The genocidal policies manifesting as unlawful cruelty and barbarism must be brought to an end. #StopBalochGenocide
