A diamond in the rough that won’t hold your hand. I can see why it doesn’t click for everyone, but I had no problems jumping into it, and it was mostly worth it to get me addicted to the most mechanically rewarding soulslike combat system in the business

An enjoyable modern animated Disney sequel that doesn’t make me groan at its tropes?! Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t anything mind blowing, but I’m genuinely shocked at how great this movie is despite, on the surface, having so much shit that makes me roll my eyes

🎮 Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
Rough visuals & tedious item collecting aside, this is easily the best spiritual successor I've played. It's like Igarashi’s talented team never left after finishing Order of Ecclesia and made another Castlevania game. Unc still got it!

While I like this game overall, from the buttery smooth controls to the stellar pixel art visuals, it sadly overstayed its welcome due to the rogue-lite elements not having enough in its bones to keep runs consistently fresh. The level design also leaves a bit to be desired

Although it hasn’t fully won me over to survival sandbox, it came pretty close, from quality of life additions to nudging towards your goals without being overly guiding. I just wish it didn’t feel so grindy from a solo experience, but other than that, it rules!
