They don’t need to do due diligence because all they want are follows, reposts and quote posts to lead users back to their accounts.
And history has shown that most people don’t care. They would rather react and share instead of tracking down the source and checking for themselves.

But too often, we as creators pretend we can create in that space without having any of that experience. So when we say something is inspired by Ghibli, what are we really saying?

This is NOT a knock on Studio Ghibli or Hayao Miyazaki, those are literally among my all time favorite films. Creators create from what they know, and what they've lived. Tolkien grew up surrounded by numerous languages, and served in WWI. These are crucial influences on Lord of the Rings.

My girl is slowing down time like it's nothing, and she really is too. Remember when it's done and she comes back to tell them about the fallen roof tile? Yeah, they act like it's been seconds. Because for them, it has! Tell me this: when does the house help anyone she's not directly talking to?
