I've had chinchillas for 30 years, & it was only when I got the 2 I have now that I witnessed chinchilla tantrums. When they were babies & got upset, they'd stomp around, shaking their heads while making turkey gobble sounds. It's hilarious. They rarely do it now that they're grown. #chinchillas

I got an email advertising a weeklong workshop in Malfi, Italy. It's being held in a fancy hotel, and is ridiculously expensive. It's something like $8k US and doesn't include transportation. I guess only rich writers can attend.

It's October in canada. I'm used to frost and sometimes even some snow by now. I'd hoped to go apple picking, but I'm legit afraid of getting heat exhaustion. Today it's going to hit 29 degrees Celsius, and that scares me. #ClimateDiary

We can only fight about how much money we get, I guess. My disabled roommate will no longer have enough room to use her mobility cart, and I won't be able to grow my vegetables anymore. And my cherry tree only just started producing fruit this year.

I used to aim for 100 rejections a year, but that's lowballing it. I don't know how many magazines/anthologies/etc I've sent work to this year, but in this month alone, I've received 54 rejections.

I've sent things out to 85 places this month. I've had four acceptances.
