Progress continues on many of our summer projects including our new club room, Cairdeas! We’re looking forward to seeing how these all come together ahead of the new school year. Our thanks again to all those who have helped and contributed to these projects thus far.

Congrats to Colin in 5th year on earning his Silver Gaisce Medal! 🥈

After completing his Bronze in TY, he took on the Silver challenge in 5th year—and his hard work paid off.

With Gold now in his sights, we’ve no doubt he’ll go all the way! Well done, Colin!

2nd year students had some fun in Science this week investigating which washing up liquid made the best bubbles! They compared brands to see which made the biggest and longest lasting bubbles. For anyone curious about the results, the green Dunnes liquid came out on top!

Last week was our final meeting for our Drama Club for this year! Thank you to everyone who came along to Drama Club, whether it was for one session or every session, thank you for dropping by! You all made it so much fun and many memories have been made! We will be back in September!

Big congrats to Chloe & Ella who are off to Belgium in June for the Siemens Digital Twin Internship!
They’ll explore AI, sensors, and LEGO models—and even write their own blog about it.
Chloe’s also had a huge year with Teen-Turn and is heading to the Technovation Semi Final this summer.

Congrats to all our Language Ambassadors! From helping students in school, assisting families at our Open Night, helping at the Christmas Market, creating beautiful displays and teaching their home languages to others, it has been a wonderful year promoting culture and language diversity.

And so it goes… one last epic school tour day of the year. Today it was the turn of the 5th years who headed to West Lake Aqua Park! Sunshine, water sports and lots of ducking and diving led to an unforgettable day for one and all. A super way to end 5th year with fun and friends. Well done!

What a great summer school tour for a wonderful bunch of 2nd years! Lots of fun was had as they kayaked, paddle boarded and took on the thrills of the Baysports Aquapark. 🚣🏼‍♂️🚌☀️ A pit stop in Supermacs on the way home and they all arrived back in Shannon ready for bed! 🥴🤣

L2LP & ASDAN Students completed one of their tasks yesterday by taking a trip to Shannon Garda Station. We would like to say a massive thank you to the Gardaí at Shannon Garda Station for accommodating the visit and for setting up activities. Thanks to class teacher Ms. Leonard and supporting SNAs.

5th year Biology classes took a trip to Galway on Monday to carry out a grassland habitat study as part of their Biology course. A lesson in the classroom followed by a quick trip around the aquarium and then out to Terryland park in Galway for some qualitative and quantitative data collection!

TY students completed the final leg of their Gaisce journey last week. On Thursday everyone hiked over 15km of the Caher Valley in the Burren and then cooled off afterwards with a swim in Fanore Beach. Back at the hostel everyone cooked hearty meals for themselves after a tiring day….

We welcomed four teachers from Réunion Island to our school this week. They spent a number of days with us observing pedagogies and methodologies. Their visit ended with a demonstration of GAA skills under the watchful eyes of sports supremos, Mr. Galligan, Ms. McInerney, Mr. Lohan and Ms. Coleman.

Massive congrats to our Junior Ladies football team who won their County Final today!! 🥳👏🎉 They showed impressive skills against a strong team from St. Flannans and came out as victors in the end. Well done to a superb team of talented young women!

Lots of hard work put in by the F1 in Schools TY students of JOCB Racing and Stellar Racing over the last few weeks. On Friday they completed their race cars and are almost all set for the National Finals. We are all wishing them the very best of luck!

It wasn’t to be for our senior girls soccer team on Monday unfortunately. However, it was still a very important and special game for them nonetheless as some of our 6th year girls donned The Comp soccer jersey for the last time! Well done - your contribution to the team will not be forgotten!
