Join us for Shine!
Shine is an annual variety show produced by Shared Radiance. This production will be a non-AEA project, with these performances being done as a fundraising opportunity for the company. Cast members will be cast on a volunteer basis. This show will be performed at the Greensboro Cultural Center and the Back Table Rehearsals for Shine will begin in mid-December with performances on January 23-24, times TBA. There will be 4-6 rehearsals for this production, one being a final dress/tech rehearsal, and 2 being TBAs to use if needed or if anyone wants extra rehearsal time. Rehearsal dates are still in the works, so if any days of the week would or would not work for you, or any prior conflicts, please let us know along with your audition submission! The theme for Shine this year is Let Your Light Shine! Please let Taylor or Sherri (contact information below) know if you have any questions about the theme, or if something would work for it. If you've got a pitch, we want to hear it! Auditions will be submitted via email by Monday, 12/3/25, with the first rehearsal TBA. Please send video auditions with either the song/monologue/scene/dance you would like to perform, or if it is something still in the works, either a video or a text submission with a breakdown of what you would like to do. Audition submissions can be sent to both Taylor AND Sherri at neesetm@gmail.com and sherri@sharedradiance.org. Please include Shine Audition in the title of the email! Our BARDS learned about lighting design today! Fatima Njie took our BARDS on a field trip to the Hyers Theatre where we got to see some lights in action and have a discussion with technicians Randy Morris and Steve Davis of Creative Greensboro. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

January 17th (1/17/2026) from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Fight Choreography Workshop led by Taylor Neese Stephen D. Hyers Theatre Learn and practice techniques for staying safe and looking cool during stage combat with an experienced fight choreographer. February 21st (2/21/2026) from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Sonnet Workshop led by Jen H. Mont Room 203 Reading and discussing sonnets will culminate in a mini-performance. We may even try writing a few sonnets ourselves! Confused Couples: Proteus decides he has feelings for Sylvia, his best friend’s love interest, after declaring his feelings for Julia. Characters often go after other people before ending the play with the person they marry. Also Seen In: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Twelfth Night Lost in the Woods: Valentine, Sylvia, Proteus, and Julia all find themselves navigating the wilderness in pursuit of their own motives near the climax of the play. Having four or more lovers enter a forest creates drama and can be used metaphorically. Also Seen In: As You Like It, A Midsummer Night’s Dream Pants Roles: Julia disguises herself as Sebastian to safely travel to Proteus in Milan. Shakespeare often has women disguise themselves as men so they can act and speak without being bound by the rules of their time or society. Also Seen In: Twelfth Night, As You Like It, The Merchant of Venice, Taming of the Shrew Forbidden & Banished: Valentine & Sylvia want to be together even though Sylvia’s father, the Duke, wants her to marry Thurio. The Duke banishes Valentine after discovering their plans to elope. Sylvia attempts to run away after him, but things don’t go according to plan. Also Seen In: Romeo & Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream (to a certain extent)

The Two Gentlemen of Verona. October 10th at 7:00 at Thomasville Woman’s Club, 15 Elliott Drive, Thomasville, NC 27360. Local artist, Dana Holliday, will be showcasing her work before and after the show. All tickets include a complimentary drink. For tickets, go to www.sharedradiance.org/tickets or scan the QR codes in the image. The exterior of the Thomasville Woman’s Club is a stately brick house with a nice, manicured lawn and hedges. Four columns support the roof extending over the shaded porch. The name of the club is displayed above the entrance in black lettering.
