Agreed. Justice Jackson is the circuit justice for issues arising in the 1st Circuit. This is not a decision on the merits.

Should the 1st Circuit rule against the administration, there's no doubt they will go back to the SC.

There are numerous groups preparing and sharing useful "know your rights" information. A source that I rely on is the ACLU. The information is easily accessible and available in English and Spanish. Hope this helps.

I am sending prayers for you and your dad. I'm asking for the wisdom of the medical providers to be based in science and the one who created it all.

For you, I'm asking for peace in your heart as you navigate these challenges. May you feel God's love and be blessed. 🫶🏾🙏🏾🫶🏾

Americans generally don't demand more for others. Until there's acceptance that neither peace nor change will occur from behind screens, things will remain the same or worsen.

What's needed now are people willing to get in the field to connect with the work and with one another. Are you willing?

Just as in war, the greatest effort expended is not always the battle. The effort needed to find and sustain peace requires significant strength. America has not done well in that area and will not do better unless we actively engage and demand more.

Working together to change systems and structures for the greater good means eliminating the use of platitudes, not leaving the field because it's uncomfortable, or because your feelings are hurt. Commitment to the objective of helping others is foundational.

Many who serve today don't come from privilege. I am now in a space where I'm more committed than ever to advocating on behalf of those living in poverty; the marginalized and the most vulnerable.

If you recognize that many in these groups are veterans, you'll know that there is work to be done.

The through-lines are missed or ignored because privilege enables many Americans to live within their comfort zone, only occasionally emerging to protest, and then returning to their privileged spaces.

For those of us whose lives are always on the line, that level of privilege doesn't exist.

Most of us served in order to help make this nation and the world a better place. Faux support for the military and feigned surprise as to what's unfolding in America under the present regime is intellectually dishonest and ignores the trajectory and through-lines present since this nation began.

Please, please stop thanking me for my service until you are willing to challenge the evils of capitalist militarism and invest in a society that recognizes and cares for the humanity of everyone.

In this reality, active duty military people will die; veterans will remain unhoused; medical treatment and disability benefits will be denied; veterans will die, abuse will continue, and stolen valor will be tolerated.
June 22, 2025 at 9:43 AM
The reality is that the defense budget does not provide support for veterans; the national debt will not be eliminated, the debt ceiling will be raised, and the doomsday clock will keep moving inexorably towards midnight.
June 22, 2025 at 9:43 AM
When I hear people talk about the sacred duty and debt "we owe" those who have served, all I think of is the defense budget; the national debt; the debt ceiling and the doomsday clock.
June 22, 2025 at 9:43 AM
Cries of "we must fund the military" ignore the reality that you are actually funding defense contractors who are funding politicians

Numerous military personnel rely on SNAP and WIC benefits. Military families also often rely on Medicaid.

I am weary of warmongers who never served, as well as those who served, and because they survived, somehow think it's okay to use us as political fodder.
June 22, 2025 at 9:43 AM
Bombing Iran also shows no regard for military personnel and families at risk in the region. Threats of "greater force" if Iran retaliates don't serve to help ensure the safety of our loved ones who are in the regional area. In fact, such language invites a radicalized response.
June 22, 2025 at 9:43 AM
Yes, we sign up to defend our country. However, that does not mean we've agreed to be pawns for those who profess love for veterans while eliminating funding for our medical care and food and medical care for our families.
June 22, 2025 at 9:43 AM
As a 25 1/2 year Air Force veteran, what I notice is always conspicuously absent from lists of things to be remembered about war, is the devastating impacts on the lives of active duty military personnel and families living in the locations where these wars begin.

Yes, even with Democrats in the minority, they should do everything possible to fight and push back against this authoritarian regime.

However, I am continually amazed at how the calls aren't sent out to Independents, non voters, and GOP, many of whom set this in motion. These times need all of us.
