do you want another ian miles cheong? this is how you get another ian miles cheong. he’s no one with no accomplishments. let him vanish. take the time you’d spend dunking on him & read the wikipedia article on flatulence. the section on the the edo period art scroll showing a fart battle rocks.

Seeing that screen *immediately* transports me back to seeing it for the first time on the demo NES they had at Kmart that let you play different games for like 10 minutes, and how it seemed like the coolest most amazing game ever, and then all the feelings of playing through it as a kid at home

In the dream I'm always like man I hope this is a dream, but it clearly isn't because I'm not waking up and this feels very real, so I guess I need to figure out how to get to a dentist or something asap

And then every time I wake up then and I'm like oh thank goodness it really was a dream

It probably wasn't actually hours to download but it felt like it, lol

Though now you got me feeling nostalgic about spending hours downloading that Sailor Moon snes game just so I could play it agonizingly slow with really crappy sound

Lol yeah seeing other people's save files was kinda fun but also there was a decent gap until when we actually got decent playable emulators, like the very end of the 90s I think

The only exception I can think of is when me and some other kid took turns playing secret of mana and left each other's saves alone every time, like a gentleman's agreement

Okay but before CDs renting RPGs from a video store was the worst. you could never get far enough and it was a rarity that you were able to check it out again later and your save hadn't been overwritten or played.

2008 feels both very far away but also not 17 years ago wtf

And oh my god, video games were so expensive. $50 was a lot more money back then, lol.

Games might seem expensive now, but adjusted for inflation that's like $150

Per game

People constantly smoking everywhere, in every restaurant and everywhere else

Not being able to watch shows because you had the wrong cable company, or lived in the wrong area

Doing anything on the internet took forever and also "the internet" was just AOL or compuserve or prodigy or whatever

social media has ruined everyone's critical thinking, I saw the start of the decline with tumblr

anyway the part that really gets me is bullshit like this makes it harder each time for every other person who is being legitimately harassed, or seeking some kind of support on the internet
November 7, 2025 at 4:17 AM
to make it even better, they set all their "fans" on the person who called them out, and that took a little bit to get sorted out until people finally turned on the OP and they made a really weak "sorry everyone, my joke went too far, time to reflect and heal" type apology post-
November 7, 2025 at 4:17 AM
every new post "update" an escalation, each new response to the OP more absurd, as the poster was like "guys please support me, here's my store" each time

it was like "and then the whole train started clapping" level absurd
