Inspired by @flaroh.bsky.social and @samanthamash.bsky.social, I made my own suggested alternatives to Pantone’s terrible and problematic choice of “Cloud Dancer” White for color of the year. Have a palette pulling from illustrations of my Orc Regency OCs, and celebrate color!

Final October drawing! I managed seven this month — that’s more than one a week so I’m pleased. Have these cutie girlfriends at a Halloween party! HAPPY HALLOWEEN! 🎃 #noai

October drawing 6: an octo demon. And why not? #noai

October drawing 5: flapper witch. I am just enjoying orange lately. #noai

October drawing 4 (yes only 4, sigh, the world is on fire). A frog witch in conversation with a peeping tom cat. Are they arguing? Are they friends? Neighbors? Enemies? You can fill in the story lol. I’m still alive and still drawing, just… slow. #noai

October drawing 3: Monster Woman. I love a human confused by their strange new feels for a monster. I wanted the monster herself to be largely up to the viewer’s imagination/fantasy. (She’s probably an orc, have we met?) This is a nod to the simple style of my fave childhood fairy tale books.

October drawing 2: Skull Mice! Having a hard time getting into spooky season drawing this year — everything I was trying was too detailed, too fussy, too complicated. So I simplified and drew some nice mice having October fun. 🎃

October drawing has begun! I’m comfortable posting art online again thanks to the Glaze Project. Not sure if I’ll manage 31 drawings due to limited bandwidth but I’m here to have some spooky season fun. 1: Vampire Prince — he sees something he likes… #noai

Late to this, but love this sort of thing. No surprise, it was hard to find reds and purples… and hard to pick from all the greens and blues. Mermaid and Orc versions! #the_color_wheel #thecolorwheel

I managed five drawings for #MerMay this year, roughly one a week. Four originals and one redraw of an old marker sketch. Best I could do what with life stuff happening. Full versions (and all mers from previous years) can be seen on my site: sharksketchbook.com/mermay-2025. #mermay2025

Wow, very first post and already incorrectly flagged by bots for sexually suggestive adult content. This is going to be a rough May.

Finally kicking into action over here! As a first step towards divorcing M*ta, I'll be posting this year's #MerMay illustrations here and on my website.

Here is a tiny sampling of mers from 2024 and 2023. For a full look at previous drawings: sharksketchbook.com/category/art...
