My cat died overnight. We never called the vets in the end, and I don't know if that was the wrong thing to do, but she never seemed like she was suffering, or distressed. I don't know if she didn't know at that point or was just chill about it, but everything just sort of - wound down.

My cat is hanging in there but definitely getting weaker. My dad wasn't sure she'd last through the weekend, but so far she's still here. It doesn't seem like she's got long left no matter what we do, but I think we're definitely gonna have to call the vet tomorrow and talk about options

The Sound of Music was on today (possibly mum's favourite film), and I realised that the Mother Superior said Captain Von Trapp's wife died 7 years earlier, but he has one kid who's "nearly 7" and another one who's 5. Whole house in confusion.

A day after we had to take the dog to emergency vets because he ate some chocolate someone left out while we were having Xmas dinner, I come out of the Boxing Day dinner, look around just in case there are any empty wrappers about, and see the Toblerone my dad got from my sister's house just lying

Back from the emergency vets, they induced vomiting and all seems good so they sent him home. So the mini-crisis seems to be over

Well, the cat seems a bit better today, but now the 5kg dog has eaten half a terry's chocolate orange while we were having christmas dinner. Mum's is googling emergency vets 🙃

New update: my phone is reactivated, and someone on tumblr who's also going to the event on Wednesday has offered to get my ticket and then meet me at the door to scan me in. So we might be back on?

So it turns out I can't go to the event, because to get tickets you either need a smartphone or photo ID to pick them up in person, and I have neither. Which sucks.

Internet forum answers suggest my phone is in hibernation because I've not used it recently. I must call EE to fix this. If it hasn't already been so long it's lost forever. We will find out if they're good with that at 10.30pm on a Saturday night

My nephew let me try to use his phone number, which might be a nightmare anyway since they're saying 'your phone is your ticket'. When I put in the authentication code (3 times) there was an error and it couldn't be completed. dagfdgdsf

The other thing I realised is that I have no idea who sings the version of 'Winter Wonderland' I think of in my head. Every version sounds wrong. Google says the most popular version is by an orchestra and the eurythmics or something. A woman sings it. Mum doesn't know either. It's a mystery

All of my seasonal playlists suffer from being a list I write down rather than an actual playlist, but winter's more than any of them just due to not being able to shuffle it. Listening to three bleak ones all in a row is a lot.
