I have a real question. How will they determine what is DEI? They want to make it illegal but I still don't know how they are operationalizing it. Is my existence DEI? If we use Black faces in an ad is that DEI? If we work with autistic kids is that DEI? What is it?

As an undergraduate I interned in the summer and winter break at a nuclear power plant, remember my major was electrical engineering. You really do need to have people who understand nuclear safety. It is really dangerous to not have those people. Like really dangerous.

Someone just asked a question and I haven't seen the answer. I saw some report about $8M/day but that isn't official so I can't believe it. Also how much is his team making? Don't we have a right to know how much out tax dollars are going to them? I'm just curious.

Jeremy Berg (former director of an NIH institute) points out a number of quirks in the NIH announcement about the indirect cost rate cut, raising the real possibility that nobody at NIH actually wrote this
The first paragraph explains what indirect costs are. NIH would not do this as they would assume their audience was university grant administrators and nerds like me.
This reads like the beginning of a book report where a student was explaining something they just read about on Wikipedia.

I don't feel comfortable with Elon's people taking people's personal, financial, information from federal government offices. They now have banking information. Please, if I am misunderstanding what they are doing correct me. Because it sounds wild.
