Enjoyed the day climbing with my youngest. I’m grateful for the time together and also for the beauty of those moments where you learn from those who came after you. Where there is still room to grow and learn new things, no matter how many journeys around the sun you or they have made.

New technology often prizes itself on being “frictionless”. But is lack of friction always a worthwhile goal? Thoughtfulness requires time. Learning requires time. Friction, ever obstinate, forces us to slow down.

2026 mindset toward art:

Slow art is intentional art.
Slow art is confident art.
Slow art says:
“I’m not rushing. I’m savoring, learning, and deepening my craft.”

Slow not because burnt out from the pressure to produce! produce! produce!

Slow because art deserves time.
