Yeah, unfortunately. On the bright side, his term ends this year. Maybe if we're lucky, we'll get to vote for a real progressive as his replacement.
February 13, 2026 at 6:59 AM
clearly that means he's the best chance we've got! Who cares if he's a fake progressive who can barely even be bothered to PRETEND to oppose Trump and the far-right if he gets even the slightest pushback from them?

In-case I haven't made it clear, as a Californian leftist, I really hate Newsom.

California and its people in any way, shape, or form.

And one who opposes regulation against AI.

But hey, he's a white guy with charisma from what is famously one of the most progressive states in the country, with one of the biggest economies in the world (despite him, not because of him), so

And the guy who backed down on his statement about ICE's terrorism because of mild pushback from Ben Shapiro on a later episode of the same podcast.

And one who opposes trans rights and taxing billionaires.

And one who prioritizes destroying homeless camps over doing anything meaningful to help

Either way, they're lost causes who aren't worth trying to convince of anything.

Anyone who needs to be "convinced" that it's about harming immigrants as a whole, legal or otherwise, and that it's about racism, is either someone who already knows and fully supports it, or someone who is so comically politically ignorant and gullible that they actually fall for republican lies.
February 13, 2026 at 5:08 AM
That's been obvious since long before he was elected. Anyone claiming that it's about violent criminals or illegal immigrants in general is deliberately lying to push an agenda and slowly normalize the racism of the Trump regime.

Man, I just wanted a decent remake that makes the combat less dogshit on PC, and makes the visual jump between Kiwami 2 and Yakuza 3 less jarring.

Not whatever this is.

an inherently stupid strategy that was never going to work.

Unfortunately, too many of them don't seem to have gotten the memo on that. Newscum especially seems to have forgotten how poorly that worked out for the democrats in 2024.
February 4, 2026 at 1:33 AM
They also didn't want him to win because his victory proves that leftist policies don't just appeal to some fringe minority that they can ignore, and shifting to the right to try to capture the votes of those who've been brainwashed by Fox News to view dems as "the enemy" and "the radical left" was
February 4, 2026 at 1:33 AM
enough and/or smart enough.

Too many people unironically believe all of that, and will never be convinced otherwise. They don't believe in the reality we all live in, they believe in the lie that mainstream media has been selling them since AT LEAST the Reagan era.

loopholes, and outright fraud, they still contribute more than the rest of us and we wouldn't have enough funding for anything without them. The belief that you can be a "self-made billionaire" even if you start with no money and no connections, that ANYONE can get there as long as they work hard
January 31, 2026 at 8:49 PM
in any meaningful way.

The people who aren't swayed by those facts won't be swayed by the Epstein Files. They've bought too deeply into the Billionaires' propaganda. The belief that we need them, because without them, we wouldn't have jobs. The belief that even with all of their tax breaks,
January 31, 2026 at 8:49 PM
It shouldn't have even taken the Epstein Files to end that debate. Billionaires have done so much more harm than good. Their never-ending greed is the reason we're in a cost-of-living crisis and my generation can't afford to own homes. It's the reason why climate change still isn't being addressed
January 31, 2026 at 8:49 PM
Not just for those involved in his murder, but for every single ICE agent who worked even a single day under this regime, and every politician who enabled this.

Anything less than that is insufficient.
January 24, 2026 at 5:49 PM
Housing affordability and trans rights also need to be up there. I won't vote for anyone who won't prioritize those issues.
January 23, 2026 at 9:49 PM
I'm glad his term is ending this year. I hope we get the opportunity to vote for a more progressive governor who will protect trans people and prioritize affordability.

California needs a Mamdani-esque leader imo.
January 16, 2026 at 5:11 PM
He's an opportunistic conservative who pretends to still be progressive solely to keep California from turning on him while he's still the governor of the state (and even then he's doing a piss poor job at it)
January 16, 2026 at 5:03 PM
As a Californian, I can confirm that I will not vote for Newsom. He's too quick to concede to the right, especially on issues like trans rights, he's against taxing billionaires, at best, he's a coward who backs down at the slightest confrontation, the epitome of all bark and no bite, and at worst
January 16, 2026 at 5:03 PM
As if he needs to, when the democratic party is already eagerly shifting to the right, and just letting "republican-lite" and "not as bad as the other guy" be their entire party platform, having learned absolutely nothing from their failures in 2024.

This always seemed to me like a decision that some dumb Amazon exec made on their own, not realizing (or simply not caring) that they'd need that approval to begin with.

And it seems that's exactly what it was.
December 3, 2025 at 3:19 PM
I never thought for a second that the parent companies had approved the AI dubs. Especially because two of the three series that Amazon did this to already had good English dubs.

Hell, Vinland Saga has two English dubs, I think.
