In Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow multiplayer one side played generic soldiers while another played spies who had lots of gadgets and could climb walls etc.
One spy gadget was a tracker you could attach to a player that tracked them and you could listen to the other teams voice chat.

Personally I find it a bit like automatic curation of games I don't really want to play anyway. If it requires some kernel anti-cheat than I'd probably be happier playing something else instead.

In addition to cherry picking which ones to show. There are plenty of worse assaults including many that weren't even protestors but just people driving to work etc. There is no way they can even say "DHS claims" against those.
