On my last live, I broke down how Argentina took the U.S. buyout, stripped the taxes off their soybeans, and then China swooped in to buy them all up. That’s millions of tons of beans that should’ve been bought from American farmers gone.

The vision and leadership he had for his local union membership led to the establishment of the Health and Welfare Trust Fund in 1973 and a supplemental pension 401(k) plan in 1983.

Our community has lost a champion, but we will continue the fight in his name.

He participated in the first union sanctioned strike with the Atlanta Machine Workers. He was part of the strikes in then1980’s and 1990’s as well. Due to that struggle, he advanced a resolution at a national convention in 1968 to create a defense fund for his union.

I’m deeply saddened to learn of the passing of my good friend Ralph Meers. We met because of my campaign but became friends because of mutual belief that we can never stop fighting for the middle class, for blue collar workers, for our veterans and for everyone in Georgia.

Everyone came out last night to support the DPG! Great to see Ambassador Andrew Young, Marcus Flowers, Congressman Hank Johnson, Sandra Williams, Nicole Horn, the teams from Paulding and Cobb Counties, the and so many more. It was a great night and I'm glad I got to be a part of it.
