This is the fate of all live service games, which is one of the reasons I refuse to engage with them. One day even Fortnite will face the budget cutter’s axe.

This would be like Netflix shooting the survivors. I don’t get it. Streaming won. And here they are twisting the knife.
Netflix reportedly only wants to keep movies in theaters for 17 days after they buy Warner Bros

Were 90s kids clamoring for a Batman cartoon with 1930s Art Deco aesthetics? Is that what the market demanded? Or did some really smart creative people have a vision and make a genre-defining hit that sustained 20 years of TV shows? If you want success look for vision, not just metrics.

It felt like the possibility space was suddenly exponentially larger. My friends and I would consume gaming magazines for any shred of N64 information in the run up to launch.

Took the kiddo to the local toy store to spend a little of his Christmas cash. His taste in building toys got more diverse today. His first anime was Girls und Panzer so I guess this turn of events isn’t too surprising.

Kiddo pulled this off the winter weekend research on a sushi run. He’s got the touch. #PokemonGo

This is why I am for aggressively making forced institutionalization great again. Even for bad faith.

Chem trails? You’re going to the nut house.
Trump won the 2020 election? You’re going to the nut house.
Antivaxer? You’re going to the nut house.
Flat earther? You’re going to the nut house.
I began this story focused on the weird lies about Hurricane Helene but became very disturbed at how prevalent this pseudo-environmentalism is. The movement blocks real policy to curb climate catastrophes.
For @rollingstone.com I wrote about the mass national movement to ban chemtrails...which don't exist. The movement is one of the ways in which MAHA is taking over the country.

This was one of the ballsiest things I’ve ever seen in a video game and I love that this is canon.

My wife got me Ghost of Yotei so I started that tonight. Feels pretty good so far, not sure the story will have the same pay off as Tsushima but the moment to moment feels similar enough that I shouldn’t have a hard time enjoying myself.

Kiddo got to pick one of his presents, and opened a 53 inch Rayquaza that’s now wrapped around the roll bar of his Jeep bed.

Crunching for an internal demo feels like a weird lack of confidence in the project by the c-suite. Why would you burn your staff out for an internal audience otherwise?
NEW: For the last seven weeks, Naughty Dog has enacted mandatory overtime for staff to finish an internal demo of their next game, Intergalactic. The game won't be out until 2027, leaving some staff wondering: If they're crunching now, what will next year be like? www.bloomberg.com/news/article...
